Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Seaside Residents Directory. By continuing to use the site, you accept them. If you do not agree, please stop using it.

1. The Reference This Site Provides

Seaside Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections that may show who lives or lived in Seaside, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with the Seaside City Clerk, Monterey County offices, the Superior Court of California, County of Monterey, any other agency, or a records custodian.

2. Lawful Access and Use

Use this site only for a lawful purpose. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions involving credit, employment, tenant, or insurance matters
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency Status

Seaside Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq. Nothing on this site, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. None of it may be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. External Portals and Services

Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control or guarantee their content, availability, prices, results, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

This site is supplied "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that its content is accurate, complete, or current, or that a linked portal will operate or return a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from this site or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record reached through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the site operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that results from your misuse of the site or breach of these terms.

8. Copyright and Site Materials

The site's original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page and quote a short excerpt with attribution, but you may not republish full pages or copy the content systematically.

9. Updates

We may revise these terms by posting a new version on this page. Use after a revision is posted means you accept the changed terms.

10. Access Restrictions

We may block or limit access for a user who violates these terms or abuses the site, at our discretion and without prior notice.

11. California Law and Record Custodians

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, grounded in California Constitution article I, section 3(b) and Government Code sections 7920.000 et seq., governs qualifying requests to public agencies, not this private reference site. The California Attorney General's CCPA and CPRA guidance describes privacy rights that may apply to covered businesses. Verify a record with the custodian, such as the Seaside City Clerk, Monterey County Recorder, County Clerk, Assessor, or Superior Court of California, County of Monterey.

12. Severability

If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions
